- Resolved Question: Don't know which way to turn, can I have your perspective with a career change?
(Sat, 10 May 2008 12:41:59 GMT)
Air force retirement :
I'm 47 year old woman, have a bachelor's degree and served 16 years in the Air Force. I have several options open to me but not sure which way to turn. Presently I substitute teach at least 4 days a week, making $85 a day. I was considering going to school to get my teacher certification in special education, which will take me at least one and a half years to complete. - Resolved Question: Is it Possible to Receive a Posthumous Military Ranking?
(Thu, 24 Apr 2008 23:56:01 GMT)
Air force retirement :
My father recently passed away, and served his lifetime in the military. He was a commander of an Air Refueler wing and was promoted as an Asst. Adj. General for our state. Unfortunately, do to "politics" he was forced into early Retirement. His paperwork for getting his first star and a rush "order" for a second star was "lost" due to post 9/11 business. Would it be possible for me to petition local Senators or House Representatives to have my Fathers stars awarded to him Posthumously?

I propose that the major auto makers build this car and nothing else for 1 year, those willing to do so are exempy from taxes (not inclluding payroll). At the same time oil companies are exempt from all tax cuts and C corps write offs. The following year there will be no tax refunds and instead every home gets an air car at no charge.
This how it works-encentive for the gov contract to build and employee workers for the auto builders.
Oil companies would ha
- Resolved Question: Air Force - Mandatory 1 year unaccompanied tours?
(Wed, 09 Apr 2008 13:53:10 GMT)
Air force retirement :
Is it true that enlisted air force are mandated to compelte a one year unaccompanied tour in Japan or Korea prior to their retirement? If it's not mandatory, is it typical that the Air Force will make them go before their 20 years in is up? If they get unaccompanied orders to Japan or Korea, are they able to reject the first set of orders (like they can with normal PCS)? Thank you!
Disregard the rejecting orders part.... I misspoke. Thank you!
- Resolved Question: Do you like this very funny but a little dirty joke?
(Tue, 08 Apr 2008 09:26:12 GMT)
Air force retirement :
The Pentagon recently found it had too many generals and offered an early retirement bonus. They promised any general who retired straight away his full annual benefits plus $10,000 for every inch measured in a straight line between any two parts of the general's body, with the general getting to select any pair of points he wished.
The first man, an Air Force general, accepted. He asked the pension man to measure from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. Six feet. He walked out with a

- Resolved Question: Best Places to Meet Descent Women?
(Sat, 29 Mar 2008 08:37:21 GMT)
Air force retirement :
Ok after I got out of the Air Force in 2005 I joined the Air National Guard and found a pretty good Civilian job, I make about 1,000 bucks a week after taxes, I own my own car, I have my own place, and I have had investments since I was 21, and I am currently 28 living in Western Washington. So my life is squared away and moving forward with a retirement in my later years. I also am not a bad looking guy I still work out and I have been told many times I am "cute" or "handsome" even "hot" befo

(Thu, 21 Feb 2008 23:17:16 GMT)
Air force retirement :
If I do enlist, and serve in the Marine Corp, what happens after? My friend's boyfriend went into the Air Force, and downplays the Marines a lot, saying they have no exit check, no healthcare, low pay, no retirement plan, etc, like the Air Force does.
Can someone elaborate?
None of this matters to me, I want to be a Marine to serve my country, not to reap the benefits of wearing the uniform.

Little miss Sunshine is the story about Olive, a 8 years old American girl who dreams to become Miss California. Her family is definitely weird: her father is a hopeless motivational speaker, her mother is harried by her family's eccentric secrets, his uncle fresh out of the hospital after attempting suicide because of the end of his gay relationship. She has also a brother who has taken a vow of silence until he gets into the Air Force academy, and a toxic grandfather recently kicked out his

I'm prior active duty Air Force (enlisted) and am looking into getting commissioned into the Navy. If someone has does this or has any info for me, that'd be great! Thanks!

- Resolved Question: What is it about the Neocons that they don't understand we can't afford all this military?
(Sat, 24 Nov 2007 01:20:23 GMT)
Air force retirement :
Yes most people realize that our military can defeat anyone, especially given time. But we are nearly broke as a country, we simply don't have the cash to patrol the world and have bases in 130 countries, we are going to have to cut back and just have a few bases and a strong Navy and Air force but they too will have to sit idle more to save money. I hear people say cut Social Security, but people have paid for that and many count on it for retirement and they did pay in, so its going to have

A very old/good friend of mine named Jay told me a sad story, and I say that because I don't want you
to think this is one of those my-neighbor's-gardner's-cousin's-friend-knows-a-guy type of deals.
Jay is 53, his dad is 80 and in bad health. Jay's Mom can't give her husband the proper care he needs,
so he has no choice but to live in a nursing home in rural Arkansas.
He was in the Air Force for 23 years - shouldn't that count for something?
You'd think 23 years s

(Wed, 22 Aug 2007 01:10:09 GMT)
Air force retirement :
Does ROTC pay for all your college, regardless if you have the money to or not? For example, I have money saved up in the bank, but would like to not have to use it for college. And afterward do they provide you with a job, health care, steady income and benefits after retirement. Also, is it true that if I get my degree when Iâ??m 25 I could retire in about ten years? Does this extend to not just the army, but marines, navy and air force?
PS. Although Iâ??d love to hear your political commen

Pat Riley first promised it 11 years ago: a Miami Heat victory parade down Biscayne Boulevard. Shaquille O'Neal guaranteed it two summers ago, vowing to add a fourth ring to his big hand in his new city.
And with one tenacious game after another in these NBA finals, Dwyane Wade delivered both.
The Miami Heat are champions for the first time, thanks to two basketball greats who made good on their promises -- and the next great one, whose promise seems unlimited.

- Resolved Question: What can be done about the air traffic contoller shortage?
(Thu, 24 May 2007 15:08:45 GMT)
Air force retirement :
With air space in the U.S. at an ever increasing capacity, the FAA does not seem to be concerned with supporting its controller workforce by imposing rules that are cutting pay and benefits, creating a hostile workplace with overworked and fatuiged controllers, forcing resignations and early retirements and creating an environment that deters new hires from applying. They are certainly not concerned with air safety.

I'm in the Air Force right now and I'm looking for a change. I was thinking about the Coast Guard, but couldn't find much solid info on it. I was wondering about a lot of different things in comparison to the Air Force.
Here is a list of all the questions I have:
Where are all the bases?
Would I be deployed on a cutter or other vessel the majority of the time? How long are typical deployments/TDY's?
Do you deploy overseas?
Is making rank difficult? For the Air Force it is just based o
