Open Question: My grandparents are contemplating about moving into a retirement home with assisted living?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 05:14:01 GMT)
They have been searching around, and are looking for a place with fun weekly activities, social gatherings, and a place that allows cats. They are narrowing it down to a few places and have asked me which one i like most. This is one of the retirement homes, and it looks like the activities would be fun for them. It is called Living Our Life Retirement Resort. And it has a very neat website. www.LOLtrain.com I really think that this would be the best one to live in. Any thoughts?

Open Question: Crazy Church Lady or Con Artist?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 02:57:19 GMT)
Several months ago my parents were approached by an acquaintance/fellow parishioner at their church which they have been going to for 50 years (they met and were married at this church as well). The lady who approached them was fairly new to the Church and new to the faith, a member of around two years, and in her mid to late 20's. She had asked my parents if they would please be the benefactor of her life insurance policy which included a lump sum of cash and entailed responsibility over her ashes. They agreed and a few weeks later she presented them with papers to sign in which they both included personal information including their social security numbers, home address, DOB and so on. 8-10 months has elapsed and the young lady has yet to notarize and submit the document she had them sign. When I heard this story I went fishing for as much information as I could and my mother revealed that she was against doing this yet my father insisted they go forward and agree. The lady is from out of town, several states away, moved here for a part time job at an assisted living facility, and my father is under the impression that she used to be homeless and has parents with many shortcomings. She has no car or no phone and she lives in the basement of a house near her work. She gives my parents random presents such as gift certificates, religious items and gourmet foods. As an adult child I need to figure out if she is she crazy or if she is a con? Has anyone heard of a type of scam or fraud or identity theft where someone approaches you and asks you to be the benefactor of their life insurance policy?

Open Question: Child custody..opinions needed?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 22:50:04 GMT)
I have a six year old little girl, her mother and I have been through court and have a set parenting plan and I (we) have followed it to a "T" since it was established 5 1/2 years ago. At the time, my daughters mother lived with her parents and finished college as I did, it's been 2 years and she's still lived at home and has never worked. She is now pregnant and due this April and has moved into an apt with her new boyfriend... however leaving our child to live with her parents because our daughter doesn't want to leave ( because it's all she knows ) I have expressed my support to assist in any way I can, but have told her that a child lives with her mother and father and that's the way it should be and once she gets settled and ready that our daughter WILL be either living with her mother or father and not her parents. My daughter told me today after my visitation that she was told by her mother that she will continue to live with her grandparents until she finishes 5th grade at her school, She is in kindergarten! I am a paramedic, work two days a week and have ask to take care of my child when her mother is not available to do so, and I have been denied. As stated in parenting plan, her mother and I are her legal guardians and I have MANY issues with someone other than the two if us raising our child. What would you do? ,, please don't bash me on here. I have no back child support due, pay more than I am supposed to and never miss a visit with my child and other than this major issue i foresee I have no problem with her mother. I have an issue with her grandmother as many in our area does, even my ex..which is why she moved out. the grandmother in this case hates me in the picture and wants nothing to do with me, so we don't get a long. the judge in our last case knows a little about this.. he had her thrown out and pay a fine after she cussed out the judge for giving me visitation to start with.

Open Question: Stuck on career choice, help!?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 17:45:35 GMT)
Hello, I am in a big mess right now on deciding what i want to do with my life. I am 24 years old and still attending a community college. I can't decide what I want to do with my education though. I live at home still, but that has become so frustrating and seems like my parents want me out soon. My boyfriend and I are trying to move in together as well. I don't have a job because no one will hire me, let alone offer me an interview (I have applied to over 30 places in the last two months). So now I am trying to find stability. Which of the following do you think I should do: Veterinary Assistant: Will take about 3 years to complete Medical Assisting: Take about 3 years to complete Nursing: Will probably take 3-4 years to get a bachelors I love animals more than people sometimes, but vet assisting pays very little. Medical Assisting pays more, but not by much. Nursing pays the most which is why I am interested. I feel like I screwed up so bad by flaking on my education. How can I go to school full time and have a job at the same time! It feels impossible and I really don't want to waste my time and emotional energy. Help!

Open Question: Best Place to live not far from Reading, but close to London?
(Wed, 10 Mar 2010 22:16:02 GMT)
Dear yahoo members I would be grateful if you could possibly assist me with some information: My husband and I are young hard working professionals with no children, he is starting a new job in Reading and we have to relocate quite soon. We are looking for a nice area to live, not far from Reading, but with good transport links to London because I will be transferred there in the future. My husband also travels to London on a weekly basis (Mondays) because he is doing a course. The place does not need to be very close to Reading, our priority is to find a nice place to live: low crime rates, lively, with plenty of amenities, restaurants, coffee shops, cultural activity, cinemas and gyms (we like sports). We are not looking to live in a village; but, we would like to live in a city close to the countryside as well. The cost of the place is not an issue because we are willing to spend extra in order to have a more pleasant stay. We already made a mistake of rushing to live in one place in order to save money; the place is very boring and sadly I was assaulted by youngsters twice. After researching and we found: Wokingham, Guildford, Woking, Surrey Heath, Surbiton, Sutton and Epsom. It seems that the place closest to our taste would be Guildford. But were wondering if there are better alternatives. Any help would be most appreciated

Open Question: what are California residential parking laws?
(Wed, 10 Mar 2010 21:16:33 GMT)
I have a neighbor who BUILT UP her house for a Assisted Living Home to 9 bedrooms . She first argued that there will be NO cars . Now that she lost her license to care for the elders, she is renting her house left and right to random people, like college students who congregate in front of my lawn . We counted 13 cars all belonging to her renters ( this does not include the renter's visitors on weekends!) . I live in a col de sac and there is no room for me and my neighbors rightfully park in front of their own house!! Is there also a law stating she can't have so many people in that house?

Open Question: Here is a problem. There are 3 caretakers for this elderly couple. (The couple are?
(Wed, 10 Mar 2010 17:41:12 GMT)
not on the same page)..2 nd marriage. His daughter feels they should go into an assisted living place. The elderly wife says.."NO< NO< andNO! She is adamint about not going and "I will not discuss it any further,"...soooo OK...BUt the elderly man who has his senses, but sadly his body is failing him, says ..:"yes, I am ready to go in.". Plus you know they fight. It has gotten to the point that he WILL NOT pay for her assisted living anyway...He said .."that is her business, not mine" I will pay my way" and she has to pay hers when she decides to go in." So there we have it. The family lives up North and keeps insisting they both need to go in an assisted living place. (By the way, the family will NOT help out. They are too busy). That is why we are here. What should i do? They talk about it all the time; but it is HER that refuses to give up her home...and I understand that. (They have gone through many caretakers...because those caretakers are done with all this crap). What can I do to DETACH, BUT STILL REMAIN their caretakers and do the work I need to do? It is more of a mess than I am talking about.

Resolved Question: ramadan : what are your views on this?
(Wed, 10 Mar 2010 08:26:23 GMT)
Once the Messenger of Allah (SWT), was sitting amidst his companions (Sahabah) in the mosque, when all of a sudden Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said "Today I shall narrate a story to you all, which will reveal three riddles for all of you to solve". This hushed the crowd and they all listened to what Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had to say. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) continued by saying that once a man got to know that the days in his life was numbered and very soon he would be confronted with death. With this knowledge he feared his loneliness in the grave and went searching for true friends who would help and accompany him. He knocked on the door of his first friend and asked whether he would help. To this the friend said, "of course, what are we here for." But then the man went on to say that he had very few days to live after which he required help. As soon as he uttered this statement, his first friend said "I am sorry but when death does us apart, there is nothing we can do for you but buy you a place in the graveyard and some cloth /shroud (Kafan) to cover your dead body." Grieved but looking forward to his next friend, the man moved on. On the second door, when he came face to face with his second friend, and after narrating the entire story of his death and asked for help, the same answer was his fate again. The second friend said "I have been there with you all your life and can help you here. But there's nothing I can do for you after you die except take your corpse to the graveyard and bury you." Lost in agony and despair, he headed for the third friend, very sure that he would receive the same answer but there was a tinge of hope left. When he confronted the third friend, and told him that he required help, the friend eagerly volunteered to help. But the man continued to say that I need help after I die. To which the third friend replied, "Do not worry, my dear friend! I shall accompany you to the grave, be there with you in the grave, even when the angels arrive for questioning (Munkar and Nakir), then assist you on the Pul-e-Sirat (bridge) and then lead you to heaven. "To this the man heaved a sigh of relief and then passed away in peace." Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) then turned and asked his companions if anybody could identify the three friends and the man. When the prevailing silence didn't dissolve, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) continued to say, "The man in the anecdote is any other human being." The first friend is "money/wealth", things that help us only in life and not after we die. The second friend is our "family/children/sons and daughters", we strive for them all our life and all they give us is a shoulder to the grave. And the third and most important friend is "Aamal (deeds)". Who accompany us all the way through. Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)Moral of the Story: Do not strive for materialistic values that will give you nothing and help you in no way in your eternal life. But work hard and pray and ask forgiveness from Allah (SWT). The good deeds assist mankind where every other thing loses value in the life hereafter! Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): "There are three friends of Human being - Wealth, Family and His Aamal". "Whoever rectifies his hereafter affairs, Allah (SWT) will rectify his worldly affairs and whoever rectifies what is between him and Allah (SWT), Allah (SWT) will rectify what is between him and [the] people." "At the moment when the coffin of a person is being lifted and carried, the concerning soul follows its corpse and regretfully calls: 'O you my children and my relatives! Beware that the world does not cheat you as it did me. I gathered wealth regardless of it being lawful or unlawful and left all of it for others. Now I am left with its burden upon me while they enjoy the fruit of it; therefore, avoid that which is similar to what happened to me'."

I currently went straight to a technical school when I got out of HS for "medical assisting" I went through it for about 6 months, passed all of the courses, Untill I had to take the course "phelbotomy" (drawing blood) I couldn't take it at all. I dropt from the course... I feel ashamed of myself, kinda guitly.... I thought maybe I would get "over" that fear but it just wasn;t my cup of tea. Im a hard worker, I study... Im just confused.. My mother passed away last year so everythings been a blur. Im just trying to get into the "right profession" I thought my next step would be nursing after medical assisting but how can I if i cant take the blood part?..Im just an average student not good at math. I feel like im in a "rush" "I gotta figure this out now" I just want something that's good that I could support myself & a family of my own someday. Court reporting was always in the back of my mind too, I just am nervous with that too I dont want to be "kidding" myself all over again. I dont really have anyone to talk to... Does anyone have any advice?

Open Question: I think I have very bad anxiety, it gets worse and worse with time?
(Tue, 09 Mar 2010 14:11:06 GMT)
I have always been slightly high-strung, but lately the anxiety Im feeling is unbearable. It causes me to have random breakdowns, Im absolutely paranoid about everyone around me...I have some very strong feelings of self-doubt and i think this is causing the anxiety? My work environment is not very comfortable. I gather opinions about people and assume they dont like me, that makes the anxiety even worse. Sometimes it gets bad enough that I feel like Im going to puke. I want to see a psychaitrist but I dont have any health insurance. I work 40+ hours a week and they just simply do not offer it. I cant afford hundreds out of my pocket to see someone..Is there any cheaper places that will assist you with this stuff? I live in the state of Florida.

Open Question: Critique my writing, please?
(Mon, 08 Mar 2010 19:43:59 GMT)
“It is easy to die, too easy,” I muse. It is incredibly harder to live, to face the challenges that difficult times afford. I have come to understand that through experience, which is worse, much worse than reading such a concept in an account. Someone might read mine. I chuckled at the thought, “Maybe”; and it will be better for him . . . or her . . . to have read a simple account, and not to have felt the pain, the suffering; but not Abigail, there would be no relief, no solace for her . . . my Abigail . . . Frozen in my memories, I recall that the monks and scholars used to say, “ When in the midst of trouble, the good sacrifice themselves for their cause, but the courageous, they live to assist the living." This statement was justified, somewhat, because after all, you cannot help somebody if you are dead. But a coward could claim this and only this; not else could he console himself with. Acknowledging the fact, my lips twisted into a sardonic smile; I am a coward. But not the one I just wrote of, the one who does not march with the infantry to battle. For whether this be fortunate or not so, I’m too cowardly to live, to stay home where I am most useful, where I am loved. Living through these catastrophic events that are soon to come is impossible; and God Almighty be my witness, I already knew. I was going to die, and that was that. I was hopeful that accepting such an outcome would make my passing from this earth easier when the time came; though not for Abigail . . . my Abigail.

Open Question: Am i wrong for being sad?
(Mon, 08 Mar 2010 17:43:48 GMT)
I came to america for college at age 21yrs of age..after my dad died.my mum gave me 5k for college and one of my dad's friend paid a year's worth of tuition(13k).I studied hard and when the year was up,i managed to transfer to new jersey.I couldn't finish college and my mum wasn't ready to assist me anymore. She felt that i should figure it out even though she had the ability to assist. She claimed that she had sent me to america and so her role for me was done and i was now indebted to her. With the help of a boyfriend(my current husband),and 7 yrs of crying and suffering, going without food sometimes, and hiding from landlords,i finally managed to finish.I graduated and got a job. I love my mum but i felt like she abandoned me in a way.she believes that 5k and 13k is enough to finish 5 yrs of college and she didn't want to be bothered,no matter what i tell or show her. She didn't even care about if i had become homeless.i had no-one,no relatives and the easy way out would have been to quit...but i didn't.Now i'm 30yrs old.i just got married(no ceremony due to lack of funds),my husband lost his job,we have no savings and my mum sent two of my youngest siblings(18 and 19yrs) to college here.I told her that she shouldn't abandon them and that american education is expensive for internationals.Studying back home would be been cheaper and almost nothing in funds.she felt foreign education is the best and thinks that i should figure out my siblings since i managed to finish school.Does not want to know how.she argued and sent them anyways.Their first semester was incomplete and i had to help complete the tuition.During school breaks, they come back home from texas and we all live in a 1 bedroom apartment.my husband is so upset and he's threatening to leave me if my mum abandons them on me like he knows she did me.i love my siblings a lot but i just can't afford to send them to college.i pay for their books, clothes, give them pocket money and assist in tuition. But i don't even get paid enough and i only have 1.5 yr work experiences in my field, lucky to still have a job with this present economy.my job is also 4hrs away and i'm paying another rental bills, because commuting is virtually impossible, and i go home during the weekends.Am i right to be upset about my mum trying to repeat leaving my younger siblings here and expecting me to figure it out?I want to be able to buy a house,to have a child,i can't invest another 5yrs of looking for money for college for 2 people?she yells and screams when i try to explain?

Resolved Question: Any Shooting Range Owners From Florida?
(Mon, 08 Mar 2010 01:24:31 GMT)
In the part of Florida that I live, there is only one range with four stalls. It is expensive as well as run down. People go there only because they have no other place to go within a 50 mile radius. I decided I want to open a range myself and have already obtained so much data that my head is spinning, yet I still have some questions I am having trouble getting answered. I have the Florida State Statutes, County Codes and Zoning, The NRA Range Sourcebook (in the mail), USAF ETL 08-11: Small Arms Range Design and Construction, the EPA CFRs for lead, and have a couple of properties I am looking at in my area that meet code and would be large enough to suffice the range. The range will be an outdoor range that has 50m (X5), 100 m (X5), 300 m(X3), and 1000 m (X2) lanes that will have use a dirt backstop accompanied by a cement block wall. The range will allow for ammunition from .22 cal to .50 cal. Other than delivery of dirt my brother, cousin, dad, and friend will assist me in the construction of the stalls, measuring the Surface Danger Zone/Vertical Danger Zone, backstops, and targets. My cousin and myself are going to Orlando to become Range Safety Officers for insurance purposes. As business takes off I will be adding a skeet shoot and a tactical/obstacle course with pop-up targets and CQB scenarios, but those are not in the making yet (not until I have an established business). The building where business will be conducted will need to have retail space for accessories, gear, ammo, and guns for sale/rent (I have an application for an FFL but until I have a location of business I cannot send it in). I will also need a 125ft X 125ft room for conducting NRA, CCW, and security courses as well as offer free hunting courses (All but the hunting courses will be taught by either myself or my cousin). A bathroom and breakroom are requirements for a security training facility in my state. I know what is needed by the county, state, EPA, and BATFE in regards to licensing and regulations for the range and firearms, what I am not sure of is the business aspect. I was hoping someone who owns a range in Florida could help answer the few questions that I have left. Q1: I know the average mark-up for firearms and accessories in the area, but how can I find the cost of the firearms and accessories (wholesale/dealers price) or of any price breaks for bulk orders? The distributors will not talk to me until I have my FFL and I cannot get my FFL without a place for business and I cannot get a place of business without a business loan from a bank. Due to the economy and my age, 24, I am going to have to go to the bank with a DETAILED business plan and explain how they will get there money back. Q2: How do you pay a business loan back? Do you pay monthly payments (i.e. mortgage/car payment) or do you pay in back in a lump some with in so many years? If so what is the time frame it is to be paid back in? Q3: Do you know of any good insurance companies to cover my business (in Florida) and if so how much does it cost? Again they will not talk to me until I have a business. Q4: How much do lead removal services cost? The EPA mandates that a company has to come and remove lead from my dirt back stops and I'm sure it is not free. If I have the equipment am I allowed to do it myself? Q5: If you own an outdoor range in Fl, do you mind telling me an estimated cost of construction supplies for your outdoor range? Q6: I am looking a buying a large piece of land and I'm probably not going to find one with a building on it that suits my needs. Any ideas/suggestions on new construction vs. other options I am unaware of such as portable buildings (if they have them) Q7: What are the state and federal taxes (estimate of course) for running such a business in FL? Please, refrain from JUST telling me that this is an expensive business and that it will fail. I now that it will be expensive and that is why I need a DETAILED business plan for the bank. I am hoping for help with the few financial questions left to determine the over all cost and revenue I will need to acquire. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate and look forward to any responses.

Resolved Question: Does Your particular denomination of Christendom Teach Eternal Torment in The Fires of Hell?
(Sun, 07 Mar 2010 14:14:00 GMT)
What is the ‘fiery Gehenna’ to which Jesus referred? Reference to Gehenna appears 12 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures. Five times it is directly associated with fire. Translators have rendered the Greek expression ge′en‧nan tou py‧ros′ as “hell fire” (KJ, Dy), “fires of hell” (NE), “fiery pit” (AT), and “fires of Gehenna” (NAB). Historical background: The Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna) was outside the walls of Jerusalem. For a time it was the site of idolatrous worship, including child sacrifice. In the first century Gehenna was being used as the incinerator for the filth of Jerusalem. Bodies of dead animals were thrown into the valley to be consumed in the fires, to which sulfur, or brimstone, was added to assist the burning. Also bodies of executed criminals, who were considered undeserving of burial in a memorial tomb, were thrown into Gehenna. Thus, at Matthew 5:29, 30, Jesus spoke of the casting of one’s “whole body” into Gehenna. If the body fell into the constantly burning fire it was consumed, but if it landed on a ledge of the deep ravine its putrefying flesh became infested with the ever-present worms, or maggots. (Mark 9:47, 48) Living humans were not pitched into Gehenna; so it was not a place of conscious torment. At Matthew 10:28, Jesus warned his hearers to “be in fear of him that can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.” What does it mean? Notice that there is no mention here of torment in the fires of Gehenna; rather, he says to ‘fear him that can destroy in Gehenna.’ By referring to the “soul” separately, Jesus here emphasizes that God can destroy all of a person’s life prospects; thus there is no hope of resurrection for him. So, the references to the ‘fiery Gehenna’ have the same meaning as ‘the lake of fire’ of Revelation 21:8, namely, destruction, “second death.” Why Continue to Teach the Lie? Is it Ignorance? Is it the Money?

Resolved Question: Could you correct this text?? thank you.?
(Sun, 07 Mar 2010 13:57:15 GMT)
Dear dairy, today has been a wonderful day. I wasn’t able to sleep in all the night. I had been waiting for this moment since I was a child. These years have all meant living in hard conditions just to reach my goal, which was to become a professional geisha. When I was having breakfast I have met to other geishas who were in the same situation. I have started talking to them and they have told me how nervous they were. Afterwards, I have gone to my sister’s room. I admire her a lot, so I have tried to remember every advice she have said to me. We have been talking for a while, explaining how we were going to act in the tea house, and suggesting me to be calm, because that was the key of success. After going for a walk and having lunch, we have prepared us for the party we were going to assist to. Getting dressed and putting us the make up, we have been for two hours. Then we have gone to the party, where a lot of famous and rich people were. I have performed a dance with fans. When I finished everybody started clapping, and a great feeling has overcome of me. This day will always persist in my mind.

Resolved Question: Are more gang members going to pretend that they are illegal aliens to avoid prosecution?
(Sun, 07 Mar 2010 13:34:50 GMT)
Posted On: January 11, 2010 by William Weinberg Santa Ana California Gang Member Claims Illegal Alien Status to Avoid Arrest You can't say he wasn't creative. Adolfo Aparicio, a documented Santa Ana gang member misidentified himself as an illegal alien so that he could avoid capture for an attempted murder charge for which he was being sought. Turns out Aparicio got into a domestic dispute with his wife and mother in law. When the cops came, he took off but soon returned and took some shots at his wife, who fortunately, wasn't hurt. Aparicio fled the area again and was arrested in Arizona, where he gave a fake name. But his fingerprints did him in: they matched a wanted out of Santa Ana for the attempted murder of his wife. Aparicio is getting deported....to Santa Ana. He'll face the criminal charges. It will be interesting to see if the District Attorney tries to charge it as a gang offense, which this incident doesn't smack of. In either event, Mr. Aparicio is going to need good legal representation, because like it or not, his gang background will come up and may work against him. Whether you live in Newport Beach, Fullerton or San Clemente, if you are charged with domestic assault or battery, call an experienced defense attorney right away to assist you. Whether you live in Irvine, Placentia or Santa Ana, if you are charged with assault or battery, call an experienced defense attorney right away to assist you

Open Question: Sci-fi Story title suggestion?
(Sun, 07 Mar 2010 05:37:06 GMT)
I am creating a motion-comic for a school project (an animated graphic novel; not quite an animation, but more than still images). I have written a plot outline and am about to begin storyboarding, but I am stumped for a title, any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, any suggestions for a name for the artifacts or the alien would also be appreciated; a title incorporating one of these words would be a possibility. Here is a condensed, partially theif-proof outline: ***The story is set in the distant future, in an alternate reality, where magic exists as the life-force within all living beings. An alien arrives and takes telepathic control of those not skilled in the art of magic (human and non-human) and orders them into a universal, murderous anarchy, resulting in a dwindling population and a dying planet overall. The spiritual energy of these living beings is released for the alien to consume, allowing it to grow during the early stages of its life. The few remaining magic users condense what freed spiritual energy they can into a number of artifacts, so that the spiritual energy may be conserved. The alien stops the killing of the population as it matures, no longer needing such a large dose of energy. The alien then assists in the restoration of the population by providing them with knowledge of advanced non-magical technology, allowing them to construct an almost utopian/dystopian society; in reality a farm of spiritual energy. Having telepathic control over society, the alien controls peoples' actions, thoughts and feelings, eventually causing a series of revolts among the population, until the one utopian city is split into multiple, at a constant feud with each other, resulting in a steady flow of souls to the alien. The story begins here, where a hero and his partners; members of an elite section of their army are sent on a mission to sabotage an impending enemy weapon, before discovering it to be powered by one of these artifacts. A mysterious man appears, who the main character recognizes as the head scientist responsible for the death of his father in a reactor incident some time ago, later to be labeled as a fiend by the government and mysteriously vanishing for many years; now he has returned and has clearly turned insane. The ex-scientists retrieves the artifact powering the weapon and the heroes pursue him as he collects other artifacts, growing in magical ability, he describes the alien's true nature and threatens to steal its power and all of the spiritual energy it has obtained in order to rule the world. The heroes later confront him and retrieve the artifacts, gaining magical ability themselves, restricting the aliens' control over them. Each of the cities develop ultimate weapons using these artifacts, unaware of the facts that all cities are preparing similar weapons; this is ordered by the alien in order to cause an all out war much like that which caused the end of the magical world, this time to feed the alien as it enters the final stage of its life, in order to repopulate and destroy other worlds. The story continues with a series of other events which I am not covering here, ultimately resolving in the scientist revealing his true intentions; that he has in fact lead the characters into defeating the alien, with the alien allowing them to undergo this journey, thinking that they would stop him from killing it, as the alien has absolutely no knowledge of the magic of the spiritual energy and thus believes the whole charade. The alien realizes what has been happening and knowing that it has no control over the heroes, it orders the entire population to attack them, as a last resort as the heroes move towards the aliens crater where it resides. The guide uses all the magical power he can to hold off the horde as the heroes continue to battle the alien. They defeat it, resulting in the sacrifice of all artifacts, the restoration of every ones own will, the release of the consumed souls so that life may return to the planet and ultimately ending the war between the cities and allowing the world to flourish once more.*** I have come up with an idea myself which I am rather satisfied with, but what do you think of it? "Fallen Angel" ...Or something along those lines, such as "The Fallen Angel", or "From the Heavens".

Resolved Question: Left handers, parents of left handers and anyone who has an idea about it...?
(Sun, 07 Mar 2010 00:12:50 GMT)
My 22 month old is showing strong left-handed tendancies. Other than the obvious not making him use his right hand if it turns out he's a lefty, are there things out there I need to know? As a right-hander, I see some of the difficulties lefties go through, but is there any way that over the years I'll be able to assist him in living in a right-hand world? I mean, I have no idea how to teach him to hold a crayon in his left hand... Or do I just let him figure it out for himself. I just wanted to know. Thanks

Open Question: Do you know, Already The teacher of the world has appeared to man to renew the spirit of understanding & life?
(Sat, 06 Mar 2010 23:13:59 GMT)
As there is a big obstacle for us as a creature to know our creator fully and no creature can know His creator,,,,, then He has chosen guidance for man since He created man that way we can learn there is a creator who wants to keep in touch. From the very beginning, He as creator helped and assisted mankind to live and grow, by the power He has He revealed guidance to mind of man to do things. even though to us, since man was created is a long time but to Him as it shows, our time and history is very short. In the beginning He just helped mankind by His spirit and power, like helping a baby to grow even though the baby not aware or comprehend this assistance, but only received. As time went by creator of our existence, revealed Himself by choosing more direct guidance to man in many places in our world by choosing messengers and later on when He gave ability to many people written prophets who each one left a book of guidance to man, but still He told the people of the Holy book, I shall come again. Even though some of the people are the people of the Book, but as humanity is coming from age of babyhood not all could read and write like today, therefore after a while when prophet passed away people misinterpreted the Holy book and the word of the messengers and entered conflict and losing the whole truth and the true reason of living, which is to grow and love one another. That’s why the prophets promised in their Holy Books of their return in a certain time as Creator knew people are only His creatures and little with capacity and memory, therefore He keeps appearing to man in all corners of our world. According to all Holy books of the past, even Indian Reds of America believed in the Great Spirit the invisible being, and unknowable essence, who would appear one Day, which He called it End of Time ( End of the day of babyhood of humanity) as He always appeared to man by a messenger and He only guides mankind to His knowledge. As He appears as a teacher to us therefore He has to be found because the guidance He has unites us in one common understanding and assist us to reach true peace. And if we fail to find this new messenger we all would suffer till we learn what we have missed as He has the word of guidance to man,,,,,then so many things can go wrong, and children go to confusion about the truth of life as He comes to renew the spirit of understanding ad life. HAVE YOU STUDIED THE TEACHINGS OF Baha`u`llah ? ( The glory of God) 1817-1892 WHO HAS CLAIMED TO BE THE PROMISED MESSENGER to unite all religions and people.

Resolved Question: I have a bachelors but would like to become an LPN any accredited online programs available?
(Sat, 06 Mar 2010 17:01:15 GMT)
I have a bachelors in general business from an accredited college. I currently work in the assisted living industry, have a passion for it, and would like to pursue an LPN or RN license simply to provide nursing care to assisted living residents (I would not like to work within a hospital setting). The current community colleges in my area have 2-year waiting lists and I would like to begin a program now. Are there any accredited programs online that provide a LPN degree or RN degree? Thanks.

Resolved Question: Should I move back home?
(Fri, 05 Mar 2010 22:33:49 GMT)
I am a 25 year old Female who lives on her own in the Caribbean. I moved out of my parents home 7 months ago mainly because we did not own our own home and we had to move from where we were living and we could not find an affordable place that would facilitate my younger sister and I along with my parents. So I moved into an apartment with my at the time boyfriend. Because my parents are both retired and did not manage well for their retirement, I now have to assist their living which I have no problem, only that I cant afford to support two households at the same time. I really enjoy my quiet time and space, but I can no longer affor to save as my ex boyfriend moved out and I now have to pay rent alone. I have searched for cheaper places but it will continue to be hard to fund myself and my parents. My sister currently has two kids and her salary barely covers her and her kids needs so things are really tough for them.....Im beginning to feel really down and out because I am left with almost no money every month and cant save. I need to save for certain things this year and am depressed as I have not seen the way to do such...we are already in March. I want to move back in, but there is no room for me really. There are 2 bedrooms only. My parents are begging for me to come back, but I wont have my privacy as before. I will have to share with them. I cant imagine that.Im looking for a place for all of us, but its hard. What do you all think I should do? Im torn between my happiness and everyone;s as a whole. I'm venting here cus I cant really talk about it with anyone else.

Resolved Question: non medical homecare in Maryland?
(Fri, 05 Mar 2010 14:45:13 GMT)
Live-In Care A live-in Home Care Assistant stays in the client’s home 24 hours a day and is available to assist morning, noon and night, as needed. When care is required 7 days a week, a primary Home Care Assistant and a back-up Home Care Assistant are assigned. The Primary Assistant is responsible for care 4 – 5 days a week and the Back-Up Assistant covers the other days. The Home Care Assistant assigned provides personal, social and domestic care and supervision at a level, which is appropriate to the individual client. This type of arrangement is suitable if the client doesn’t require complete care and attention and doesn’t have to be turned during the night. The Home Care Assistant must have his/her own separate bedroom and needs to be able to receive about eight hours of sleep a night. visit sunvalleynursing.com

Resolved Question: do i have a chance for the NHL?
(Fri, 05 Mar 2010 03:22:29 GMT)
ok i want to play in the NHL when i become of age, and i know i had a relly late start, but i think i may be able to make it still, what do you think? and also, im going to explaine myself, and i dont mean to brag. ok so im about 5'8'' and still growing, around 130lbs, and almost 15 years old. i am VERY active, and do a hard workout evryday, followed by 45 minutes of jogging in the mountains (where i live). i started playing hockey at 14, and immediatly picked it up, becoming the fastest, and best player on my team. after playing for my team for a few months, i got bumped up to a higher leauge. (in the last leauge i played in, i got at least 1 assist in every game, my record is 4 assists in one game.) i can skate full speed with the puck, have very fast and accurate shots. puck handleing, checking, smart plays, and speed are my strong points. my usuall position is Forward Left Wing. i also do very good in school. i know based on my work only, its hard to make any accurate judgement, but baed on hat i told you, do you think i have a chance at the NHL? sorry for the spelling, i was in a hurry. :-) im not going to give away where i live, but i will say that there are about 200 kids in my old leauge, and IM the one they chose to bump up to a higher one. and there have been several NHL players from where i live.

I am a fourteen year old male weighing in at about 130lbs, I have a body fat percentage of 9 and a very high metabolism allowing me to gain muscle easier than most people. I live a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy, nutritious food. My goal is to gain between 30-40 lbs of muscle mass by around this time next year. Some of my main goals consist of a well defined abdominal region, and a toned, sexy body. I never give up in anything and i always aspire to my goals, but i have limited knowledge in this area so your help would be appreciated. If you need further information Ex; BMI, Waist Size, Neck Circumference etc.. Please say so and i will do my best to provide it. I will update my results frequently and this should be an easy way for a best answer bonous at least once a week if not more. I appreciate your help in advance. I have talked to my general practioner, and my physiscian and they both give me the thumbs up health-wise. So you needn't worry about stunting my growth.

Open Question: Need advice, my mom is causing my dad and i finincial strife?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 21:43:04 GMT)
So basically im 14 years old and my dad has been working as a taxi driver for the past year ( which has been pretty brutal, being as its a 12 hour shift). About six months ago me and my mom got into an arguement and ive stayed with my dad who has completley supported me ever since. He recently did his taxes and was going to get a tax return for 5,000 dollars. It might not seem like alot of money but to us it would have been since we've been living in a government assisted complex in an appartment with no furniture except for one bed (my dad sleeps on the floor). So with this money we could have bought furniture, new clothes, a brand new computer so i could do my homework more easily and so much more... but.. we recieved a devistating letter in the mail stating that they gave every single penny to my mom (who is under no fincacial stress might i add) because she had gone and told the DA office that my dad has NEVER paid child support for the whole 6 years theyve been divorced (which is a complete lie). How can the system do this to us? They took money from my dad to give to my mom for child support when im not even staying with her! AND he doesnt even owe her the money! Its just evil ... We are living in poverty and they just gave my mom 5,000 dollars that my dad worked his *** off for an entire year to earn! There must be somthing we can do, this is just so wrong. Ever since we got the letter ive just been feeling so devistated.. It was also the fist time ive seen my dad cry :( Anyway i was hopeing someone on here could give some advice... any kind of advice becuase this is a crime .. I do know for a fact my dad does owe some child support, because for a period of time he didnt have an income. but at the time my mother was being reasonable about ot and let him skip a few months sometimes. Then she turns around and says he owes her $16,000. Which means he NEVER paid her which isnt true.

Voting Question: Depressed and thinking of suicide?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 21:07:52 GMT)
Alright guys, to start off i'd like to say this is going to be a little long, but i just hope to god someone can help me. I am a 19 year old male, just getting ready for highschool graduation (ended up staying back a year in sophomore year) and recently I have fallen into a depressed/upset feeling stump. Ever since I was a little kid, my grandfather has been an alcoholic, urinating himself, soiling himself, and yes sometimes it has leaked onto the rug, and I had the misfortune of stepping in it. He is now 80 years old and the same thing occurs, we are going to look into assisted living for him and my grandmother, so thats one thing that has been bothering me. Another thing is, I was with my girlfriend 2 years, I loved this girl more than words can ever explain, but I let my temper get the best of me, I ended up pushing her around/verbally abused her and she left me (I don't blame her) I guess you can say alot of my anger/frustration came from my home life and what I deal with, but i'm not making excuses, what's done is done, it was my fault. The thing that most affects me is I have severe OCD, and after my girlfriend left me I started hanging out with the wrong crowd, kids that use drugs, have been to jail, and once one of them came into my house and played video games with me, and now I feel I have scumbag and prison germs all over my bedroom, and whenever I walk in my room I feel dirty because of this, I also want to cry because im very clean cut and I believe this has ruined my image and also im ashamed I brought those 2 kids into my moms house. Another thing that bothers me is when I was 15 I did a bit of recreational drug usage. Mostly acid, mushrooms, weed (alot of it) and that was it. Now I truly believe marijuana is a medicine more than anything, I dont drink or anything. But during this period I took a hit of crack, and that really brings me down. I only smoke weed about once every 2 months now. Im just VERY upset with my past and I'm ready to kill myself already because im sick of this ongoing headache. If ANYONE can take the time to touch up on some things and give some insight on any of my problems words cannot describe how much it would mean to me, I have no one to talk to, and I hate talk of antidepressant/psychs, drugs dont cure a problem, they cover it up. THANK YOU so much guys.. and I know I dont want to die, Im 19 and have (hopefully) a very successful life ahead of me - Eric.

Voting Question: Must I live in my house for a complete year before I can deduct the interest?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 18:51:07 GMT)
The company that assisted me with filing my taxes told me I can't deduct the interest paid on my house because I bought it in July. Since I haven't lived in it at least 1 year, I don't qualify. I can't find anything on the IRS website regarding that limit so what gives? This person works for a very well known company, so I took their word for it. Does anybody know or have a link for me so I can confirm this?

Voting Question: Career in Music - What Should I Do?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 09:32:19 GMT)
So, I'm 19 *soon to be 20*, graduated high school almost 2 years ago, and, I'm still torn about what to do with myself. When I graduated I had no direction, absolutely no direction lol. I tried my hands at all kinds of things, but ended up quitting. Not out of depression or "oh I suck at this blah blah blah", but just because I get bored. I'm the type of person that gets very bored and restless if I don't have something to do........except when I was working at my last job, and when I play my music. My last job was awesome, pretty much was with an internet marketing/consulting/advertising companies. 2 of them at once in fact (working with my direct boss, and then helping him out with his biggest account as pretty much the "assist consultant" or "secondary consultant"). It wasn't your typical white collar, desk-jockey, type job. That type of job, where I'm just pushin paper/pencil would kill me, I'm way to restless. But with this past job, I got to be creative, I got to use my ideas, I got to edit/make videos, websites, pictures, etc. And I got my training for free. BUT, unfortunately, due to the economy, the business has taken a hit. Boss said he can't afford to pay me right now, and didn't want to have me working for free lol, but that I'd most likely be able to come back in a couple months. So, more like laid-off than fired. Now on to my music. I play flamenco guitar. I play everyday and I can honestly say that it's the one and only thing that truly makes me happy. It's my release. I would absolutely LOVE to make a career out of it, but it's music, much easier said than done. And considering it's also flamenco, considering most people probably think about the bird (flamingo) when they see the word, it's not exactly all that main-stream. Lately I've been very lost, very very lost. I've tried my hand at a few things, and quit all of them. College........psh, yea right. I'm not lazy, not lazy at all, trust me, the responsibility of my last job was enormous. It's just, college isn't right for everybody, some people just aren't meant to go, and I happen to be one of those people. What can I say? I tried, only lasted a year then I decided that I couldn't keep doing it. And some more things here and there I don't want to elaborate on, and make this any longer than it already is. Anyway, on to my question (sorry for rambling), when it comes down to it, the only 2 things I haven't quit are: my job, and flamenco. The reason why I keep trying my hand at other things and not just sticking with music and the job that I have/had, is that it's free-lance. Times are good, times are bad. Music is artistic, and the web-job is free-lance. Basically, it's not something I'm guaranteed to always have (if that makes sense). And I'm a person that grew up with VERY little stability in my life, so the thought of living the rest of my life like that......just the thought of it stressed the hell outta me. But still, those are the only 2 things I haven't quit. So, finally, my question is: What just sticking with my gut and do music and the internet-marketing job (when I get it back, or even finding clients of my own), or should I keep searching for something else? Just trying to get some other people's (aside from family/friends) view, you know, people who don't really know me, kind of an objective point of view. Thanks and I appreciate your advice. Sam To CarolO - I've been paying my own bills lol. And I'm currently searching for a new job/clients and leads of my own (I don't think I can count how many places I've applied to this week, from odd-jobs to grocery stores to professional companies, I just some form of temporary income) So it's not like I'm sitting on my ass. I have been living with my father, but like I said, I help out with the bills and pull my own wait, I'm not a bum. And if you didn't notice how I said in my question "aside from friends/family", I've already asked them, they're the first people I asked. I'm here for an outsider's (objective) point of view/personal opinion.

Resolved Question: Buy or Sell: Drums machines have no soul?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 07:22:48 GMT)
A bumper sticker inspired this... BQ: How would you define 'soul' in music that is assisted by machines (computers), i.e. Hip-Hop, Electronica, etc.? I know some older heads who claim anything that's digital has no soul, they prefer their music in analogue... These older heads also dislike the majority of movies that use lots of computer generated effects and green screens. BQ2: Do prefer movies that use actual models and what not, or movies that use computers and what not? For example, do you prefer the original King Kong or the most recent one? Which took more skill/talent to produce? The one that took still pictures of a clay model or the one that took computers? I guess this brings me back to music, too... BQ3: What takes more skill/talent? Programming a drum machine or playing the actual drums? What sounds better, a drum machine or live drums?

Voting Question: Help in getting aid for college.?
(Thu, 04 Mar 2010 00:39:19 GMT)
I am a 22 year old that has been attending a community college for about four years now. My major is Nursing and I would like to become a Registered Nurse and work with maternity and pediatrics. I would like to transfer to a university but at the moment I have decided to stay where I am at since the college that I am in is the best in the state of California. The primary reason it is taking me a long while is because I have had a great deal of financial problems throughout my college experience. Of course I have applied for financial aid many times but unfortunately I did not qualify because apparently my working 60 year old plus parents made a lot of money (i.e. parents never gave me money for my tuition, money went to the pay the bills; rent, gas, electric, car payment, etc.). Also the fact that I am a first-generation college adds insult to injury. Now since financial aid will not help me, I have very actively am trying to find a part-time job to assist me with school but am having trouble with that too since I have very little work experience. Fortunately this past May I received a scholarship worth $700 but sooner or later that money will be gone and it will not be sufficient. A this moment my situation has gone completely worse since my parents are planning to retire and would like to move to an apartment community specifically for senior citizens. I am simply looking for any type of advice that will help me so that I can finally finish with school. I want desperately to move out and live in like a dormitory or a small apartment near the college so I can finally become independent. Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks.
