(Wed, 03 Oct 2007 18:35:02 GMT)
California disability insurance :
Is there any sort of insurance you can buy in California so you can get approximately your regular wages during your unpaid maternity leave? I've heard that state disability doesn't pay too much. And how long can you take off? Some women say they've gotten 3 months off but I don't know what I need to do to get that, and still have approximately my regular income coming in. I'm not pregnant yet, so I could buy something without having a pre-existing condition. Thanks!

Are these riders and insurance premiums nationally uniform for personal disability insurance plans through Guardian?
- Resolved Question: Workers Comp, Attorney Fees?
(Mon, 16 Jul 2007 23:33:02 GMT)
California disability insurance :
I spoke to a lawyer (in California)regarding an on the job injury. He told me that it is my duty to file for Disability Insurance. And that he'd represent me in My Workers Comp case. He said he'd charge 15% of any settlement I'd receive from Workers Comp.
Does this mean that I can receive one lump payment from WC, from where he takes 15%? Or would WC give me a weekly check (until I recover) and does he get 15% from my weekly check? Thanks in advance.

I have been receiving a monthly disability income from my private disability insurance company, is this taxable? I live in California.
If you pay the entire cost of a health or accident insurance plan, do not include any amounts you receive for your disability
