How can I help a minor who is a military dependent whose father retired from the military?
My god daughter whom i have legal guardianship of is entitled to certain benefits, how can i help her get what she is entitled to when the father wont give me the paper work for an id card or pay for the medical insurance?
The benefits would include medical, commissary. it isn't alot but it helps.

thank you all for your help in this matter very much appreciated

Best answer:
Now that he is out of the Military you will probably
have to file a "Child Support Petition" in Civilian
court...do so asap...
He still has to support his Minor Child until
she is 23 if still in school...has nothing to do
with who she is living with or who his her
Guardian...Food/Clothes/Medical/Dental/
School Supplies and Tuition plus an allowance.

His Military Retirement pay is assignable
meaning the Courts can take any or all of
it to support his child...

He thinks the Military was tough...on child support...
He hasn't been in front of a Civilian Judge yet...
Minimum support payments are 17% of his Gross
before taxes...plus all of the other items mentioned above...
Minimum only means that is the bottom of the scale...
The Judge can set it Higher...
If he has remarried...they can also take Her pay
into the equation and often do...
File in the jurisdiction that you are in,
means he WILL have to appear there...

Call Child Protective Services they can
direct you in the right direction...
