most towns across america have websites nowadays. they have demographics, how many people of what age groups, ethnic groups in case you want to look for people like you, the real estate section will usually say how much the houses are going for there.

you can just seek houses in a search engine and see what the asking price in those areas are.

Unfortunately what another answerer here said is true, the cheapest houses are where there is no money.

My granddaughter's boyfriend's mother was renting a house in Green County Kentucky. Beautiful area, five bedrooms for 250 dollars a month. 55 acres, cows in the fields and a horse in the barn that they could ride.

Not only are there no jobs there, there are not too many people, not too many stores. you better have a very reliable vehicle and a fixed income. Like a military retirement. Good social security pension.
