- Resolved Question: Disability Insurance in Vermont?
(Tue, 10 Jun 2008 03:02:50 GMT)
Disability insurance lawyer :
Does anyone know if it's legal in the state of Vermont to employee people without disability insurance? I know it's illegal in New York. I'm out of work due to pregnancy complications for 3 weeks or so and I can't collect disability for this or my maternity leave because they said they don't have disability insurance. I called a lawyer, but haven't heard back from them yet. Just curious if anyone knows the answer to this question.
Thanks
I don't have paid maternity leave, or disability... not

I feel like I am losing my mind here. I can't work because there is something seriously wrong with my leg/hip/thigh & I can't get medical care, and SSI has denied me because there is not enough Medical information for them to go by they said. I cannot GET diagnosed because we can't afford for me to see a doctor. I've heard time and again how difficult it is to even get Social Security-and many have said you have to get a lawyer. I have no idea what to do at this point. I am on the FHIAP(family

I am an honorably discharged, disabled American veteran. My disability rating is 70% but I receive 100% benefits due to unemployability. All of this is concerning the State of Texas. Please keep in mind that this is NOT the entire story. My daughters were living with their mother and others many of whom were drug users and alcoholics. They were in a dangerous and neglectectful situation and I wanted to get them out. I tried the court but I didn't have the money to hire a lawyer as my rating wa

My fiance (we live in Michigan) just gave birth to our son after being on STD for the last 6 months. It's kind of a unique situation, where she went on disability 3 or 4 days before a change of ownership of the company she worked for due to serious health issues. Is the new owner required to take her back in an equal capacity (she's fine now)? Also, the new owner did not offer health insurance when he took ownership, but rather reimbursed ALL 10 employees COBRA payments. He paid her Cobra

My grandparents are 64 and 70 and are right now in the process of declaring bankruptcy. Disability insurance lawyer :
After surgery and painful P.T.for a year, my suit was dismissed for lack of evidence. Apparently I was to have had a Dr. appt prior to court which my atty forgot to tell me about. This was set up by the defendants insurance co. and would have proven my lifelong disability. My atty said " I F***ed up!" and left it at that. I was advised by him not to attend court for the ruling.

I paid all my life to WCB, CPP and insurance companies for services they never intended to provide. I am still arguing with WCB, doing all kinds of psych tests so they can find another excuse to kill me with negligence. CPP wrote a refusal letter with the mentality of a 5 year old. Standard Life is playing games and refusing to pay disability benefits too. Which means I have to be rich enough to hire enough lawyers and spend years in courts to get justice (cause you won't get competent lawyers

Disability insurance lawyer :
Ok last political question...but I really want to understand this...because Canada isn't much different than the USA but nobody really sues one another here. I don't know if it's because we have insurance which covers us for a lot of things (ie Workman's Comp for injuries, private insurance, long term disability, auto insurance, etc. etc.) or what.
But in the USA it seems you can't open your mouth without fear of being sued. Someone slips on your driveway and you're being sued. One child h
