Resolved Question: Short-term Disability Benefits for Pregnancy in New York State?
(Tue, 01 Jun 2010 13:24:43 GMT)
I live and work in the state of New York and I am aware that as a NYS resident that I am eligible for short-term disability pay when I leave work to have my baby. What I can't find out is this, I want to take my leave from work at 37 weeks. When am I actually eligible to apply for short-term disability benefits? When I leave work or when the baby is actually born? And does leaving work early affect my eligibility?
My pregnancy has been completely healthy. There is no medical reason to leave a

Resolved Question: NY resident working one month out ot the year in New Jersey.?
(Fri, 30 Apr 2010 00:25:56 GMT)
I worked for the same company throughout the year. For one month, they sent me to an office in New Jersey to work and deducted New Jersey State Income Taxes, UI, WWF, WF and NJ Disability Insurance. They also deducted New York Income Tax, UI, WWF, WF and NY Disability Insurance. I protested with my employer to no avail and was told at the end of the year I would get everything back.
Question 1: Why does NJ make me calculate my taxable income based on my total income for the year? Shouldn''t it

(Thu, 28 Jan 2010 03:33:31 GMT)
WRONG ON ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Gov. Bob McDonnell:
Today, the federal government is simply trying to do too much.
Last year, we were told that massive new federal spending would create more jobs 'immediately' and hold unemployment below 8%.
In the past year, over three million Americans have lost their jobs, yet the Democratic Congress continues deficit spending, adding to the bureaucracy, and increasing the national debt on our children and grandchildren. [McDonnell Prepared Remarks, 1/27/10

Here's the situation. It's a bit lengthy, so I'll try to break it up to make it easier to read.
This is purely a legal question. It's irrelevant whether or not I remain on good terms with my girlfriend's father. Anything that follows is just in case there are any applicable circumstances that affect the legality. Location: oneida county/new york state.
My girlfriend and her father are both on the lease for a subsidized apartment. I am a frequent guest, not a squatter. The father wants to ki

Voting Question: Mentally ill and needing help. What do I do?
(Fri, 10 Oct 2008 06:25:04 GMT)
So I just moved to a new city in June and I don't have a psychiatrist. I had some money a while ago, but it's dwindling down and I'm almost out. I don't have insurance.
I work part time, 25 hours a week, but I make about $200 a week. I am unable to work full time.
I don't have enough money to pay the rent.
I don't have a psychiatrist, and I don't have money to pay for a psychiatrist.
I don't have money to pay for medication, which run about $450 a month for me.
I mean it seems like there are

Resolved Question: RE: Herniated disks and Sciatic pain?

I was diagnosed with herniated disks in 1996. I had MRIs done in 1997 showing the herniated disks, I have three - two cervical and one lumbar. I was also diagnosed in 2003 with scoliosis. That doctor stated if my condition continues to deteriorate, I would be a candidate for surgery. This was in New York-I don't live there anymore.
I moved to another state. I just had MRIs done and they don't see any disk material protruding onto anything. They are saying the disk is dried out and that
