- Resolved Question: How much should we be saving for retirement?
(Thu, 05 Jun 2008 13:46:43 GMT)
Retirement manager :
My husband only works, I am a stay at home mother of four children ( I worked for 8 years as a lab manager before having children). How much should we be saving for retirement? He is 35 years old, I am 36 years old. We currently max out his 401K at 15% of his pre-tax salary. We also save 10% post tax into an annuity type account (life insurance also). When I use retirement calculators, they usually say we should be saving only 5% of our pre-tax income actually since we started at age 26 or
- Open Question: Do have a good advice for me?
(Wed, 04 Jun 2008 06:23:26 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I do not wish to rise to the challenge because I am moving to a new job in the office. However, following the retirement of my immediate line manager in February (worked for him about 20 years), I am now leaving the team on 23 June 2008 to join another team within the organization. It has been agreed by regional director to avoid conflict of personalities at my request.
My present boss has taken issue that I had a significant amount of annual leave outstanding and there is concern about the i
- Resolved Question: State Alcohol Sting at work....What do i do?
(Mon, 02 Jun 2008 22:52:39 GMT)
Retirement manager :
The manager at my workplace got "stung" - he sold beer underage and got caught. Due to company policy, he is also going to loose his job. He's devestated....he's been with the company for 15 years, and is 2 years away from retirement; however, he looses all benifits with the termination. I know he won't be able to get a very good job doing the same thing he's doing now (due to the underage sale going on his criminal record). How do I tell him that I'm there for him without making him feel
- Resolved Question: Is It Worth Searching for a New Job While Pregnant?
(Fri, 30 May 2008 22:06:45 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I was promoted into my previous supervisor's position upon her retirement. I've been doing the job for four weeks now, but haven't been told how much I'll be paid or any other crucial details about my new role. Before I took the job, they said they wanted to keep it at the same level as my previous supervisor (highest level admin, an exempt position). Now they are telling me it will be one level lower and non-exempt. So, I'm thinking of leaving, because I was counting on the extra vacation tim

- Resolved Question: Pharmacy: What to do?
(Fri, 16 May 2008 00:19:33 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I'm in pharmacy school and I work at a pharmacy as an intern. I like working with patients and I like the science aspect of pharmacy and the idea that I can help people while working.
However, I have severe social anxiety. When it comes to talking about things that have to do with work, no problem. But when it comes to small talk, like getting to know my coworkers and patients, I am a complete social retard. I don't know what to say. It's seriously making me have second thoughts about pharmac
- Resolved Question: Would you say this is a good savings plan for my retirement?
(Fri, 02 May 2008 20:13:53 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I'm in my very early 20s and currently save around £450 per month, which goes straight off my wages into my savings account. My savings account pays me 5.80% gross per annum, which I believe is a pretty good rate. As I already own my home, can be a very frugal person at times and have no mortgage to pay, that money is put towards other things such as enjoying life with those that are special to me. My relationship manager at the bank states that if I was to stick with this savings account fo
- Resolved Question: MLB guys after retirement?
(Fri, 02 May 2008 17:00:39 GMT)
Retirement manager :
What do MLB guys do after retiring from baseball? Coach? Manager? Actor? Please tell me their typical future after MLB.
One interesting point in your answers is that some of them just golf and do not have a job.
In my country, Japan, people, or men are always required to work until 60. So even if someone has millions and does not have to work for living, he is required to work or others will look down upon him.
I have not heard of many baseball guys in Japan who do not work after retiring

- Resolved Question: At Wrestlemania tonight do you think Ric Flair we'll lose to HBK? How do you feel if he wins or loses and why?
(Sun, 30 Mar 2008 15:59:57 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I think he just might HBK is that good and Ric is getting older and he needs to retire even though I love him I don't want him to retire his body must go through so many aches, pains, and have so many broken bones due to injury but he does it because he loves this business and he would not regret it for anything else in the world. Like what HHH said (last night on Hall of Fame) there we'll never be another Ric Flair, no one better & he we'll always be the man. If this is Flair's last match I w

- Voting Question: Any advice on paranoia at work?
(Sat, 08 Mar 2008 15:14:38 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I got canned at my last job. Now I have a new job as an assistant manager where I've been for 3 weeks. I thought everything was going great and then the manager totally bit my head off for no just reason. She says she thinks I "know too much for a new person." For corn sakes I've worked in this profession before! Of course I know things! Her implication was that I'm a corporate spy or a snitch. She knows nothing about computers and is close to the retirement age and I think SHE thinks I'
- Resolved Question: Fidelity Freedom Fund 2050 vs. Domestic/International Funds?
(Mon, 03 Mar 2008 01:19:56 GMT)
Retirement manager :
I'm 25 and just opened a Roth IRA for $2,500 and want to know where a good place to invest my money is. I've research some of the funds and it shows that individual domestic and international mutual funds typically have much higher life rates of return than the Freedom Fund 2050 (FFFHX), but the advantage of the FFFHX is that I don't have to do anything to worry about my retirement. It is aggressive growth right now because I can tolerate risk but gets more conservative as I get closer to reti
- Resolved Question: I'm not sure where to invest, Roth IRA $2,500, which Fidelity fund?
(Mon, 03 Mar 2008 00:59:28 GMT)
Retirement manager :
Gosh, there seems to be a billion mutual fund choices, index fund choices and who knows what else out there
Fidelity Freedom Fund 2050 (FFFHX) I'm 25, it shows to invest for me for my retirement and I don't have to do any work...I'm doing aggressive growth option & it invests in domestic equity 70%, internation 20% and 10% bonds to start, but changes as I get closer to my retirement date to a more conservative approach

- Resolved Question: Do you think John Hagee is getting fat off of fleecing the flock?
(Sat, 01 Mar 2008 04:54:43 GMT)

"As the nonprofit organization's president, Hagee drew $540,000 in compensation, as well as an additional $302,005 in compensation for his position as president of Cornerstone Church, according to GETV's tax statements.
He also received $411,561 in benefits from GETV, including contributions to a retirement package for highly paid executives the IRS calls a "rabbi trust," so named because the first beneficiary of such an irrevocable trust was a rabbi.

Determined to source the most suitable guide-dog for a client, I unwittingly turned the canine world upside down

- Resolved Question: New job for Ric Flair?
(Sat, 23 Feb 2008 10:02:23 GMT)
Retirement manager :
Let's assume that Ric Flair's retirement match will be at Wrestlemania. His active wrestling career will then be over. What do YOU want him to do? Ride off into the sunset? Go to the "old folks' home"? Stay with the WWE in some capacity? If so, what do YOU want him to do? Commentator? Manager? Something else?
Ric Flair is a living legend. He doesn't need me to sell that.
MY choice would be to have Flair teach a "how to cut a good promo" school (let's face it, one class won't cut it
