Retirement planning advice :
1. Graduate from high school with a 3.? GPA and completion of many mentoring classes - which will help with my plan.
2. Go to community college for 2 years and pay tuition with KEES and an Early Childhood Development scholarship.
3. Transfer my credits to a university which will lead to a degree in elementary education. Pay for it with a teacher scholarship & fill out FAFSA my senior year of high school.
4. Get a job as an elementary teacher after college. I decided this because I ? kids an

The company I work for has stopped our 401k plan (3 months ago). There are only three of us in the company (myself and my two bosses) and I have a 5% partnership in the company. They pay me a profit share of 5% as an annual bonus. They do not contribute to my 401k plan.
They also told me that rather than pay me my bonus as salary, they would prefer to pay it into some sort of retirement account. However, since I am trying to save up for a down payment, I would still prefer to receive

I was wondering what my best options would be as a 23 year old to start saving for retirement? I've been looking into 401k plans, but I really don't understand that much about them.
I only want to put in $200 a month right now since I'm paying off credit cards and student loans. I gross almost $41000 a year, and I'm keeping a strict budget till my debts are paid off, which should only take about 1yr-18mo if I keep my goal of paying off $800 a month towards it.

The check that I got from it had 10% withheld due to taxes and they stated that I would have to pay more taxes.
My question is what more of a percentage will I have to put aside when I do my taxes in 2008.

I am confused on how this work because my recruiter is telling me that they match whatever I put in dollar for dollar up to 15,000 a year. So if I put in 15k every year for my 5 year enlistment, that is 75k out of my pocket and in return 150k back to me??

My situation is a little tricky, because I'm pulling a 40% disability rating from the VA ($634 dollars a month). Retirement planning advice :
I want to start a retirement plan for atleast 20 years. I am adviced by an insurance advicer to go for single premium retirement policy from HDFC with minimum possible premium of 25000 & was told to top up it whenever I want.
I am told following benifits-
1. Only 6% allocation charges in first year. Then I can top-up (unlimited topup are allowed as no insurance attached). Top-up charges are 97.5% in first year & 99% after first year. It is best option possible. It also gives me flexibility t
