(Tue, 10 Jun 2008 18:10:56 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
WASHINGTON ?? The famed bean soup served in Senate restaurants is made up of dried navy beans, smoked ham hocks, onions and a million-dollar tab for the taxpayer.
That menu for financial distress could be about to change as the Senate, following the lead taken by the House more than 20 years ago, moves to privatize the restaurants, coffee shops and cafeterias located in the Capitol and Senate office buildings.
The Senate last week passed a bill authorizing Senate restaurants, now run by th

Retirement wishes :
I am so emotionally drained right now. My husband and father of our 2 yr old son wants a divorce. Neither one of us are abusive or cheating on the other. He feels that since I got this new gov job that puts me on the career and retirement track (which doesn't start for another week and a half) that we will not have any more kids which he wants more. - Resolved Question: WHY can't the Obama followers know what Obama himself says?
(Sun, 08 Jun 2008 16:37:06 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
HE HAS SAID NUMBEROUS TIMES HE WILL RAISE TAXES!
But during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Obama said taxing more of a person's income was the option he would push for if elected president. He objected to benefit cuts or a higher retirement age.
"I think the best way to approach this is to adjust the cap on the payroll tax so that people like myself are paying a little bit more and people who are in need are protected," the Illinois senator said.
Already Obama has said he will rais

(Fri, 06 Jun 2008 21:52:09 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
Seeing his trainwreck of a speech on Tuesday night, when he looked like he was running for president of the retirement community, I couldn't help but think, this guy must wish he were anywhere else but here. He probably never seriously expected to have the nomination fall into his lap and now he has absolutely no idea what to do.

Spending money in today??s society is becoming more and more of a hassle. What is causing so many people in today??s society to be so conservative with their money? The downfall of our economy has caused many of us to become very careful on what we spend our money on. There are many reasons why so many of us are trying to be careful with the money we earn. No one actually even has anymore extra money to throw around on items they know that they will not need to survive. Another reason t

If Obama had never been in any office, I would still put his smarts above most other Demlicans & Republicrats. You sheeple have to stop believing that when he thrashes McSame in the election, & is sworn in, that he is then hurried & locked into a cock-pit with all the buttons and switches to the world. - Resolved Question: Should I stay conservative in my investments?
(Mon, 26 May 2008 00:15:52 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
I'm just a poor baker who is trying to save for retirement (20+ years to go). Money doesn't come easily so I save as much as I can. I have a 401k (I pay the company's match) and a Roth IRA. I'm hesitant about investing further in mutual funds (I know individual stocks are too risky). My uncle tells me to stay conservative, to stay in bonds and avoid stocks. But he owned a successful business and now he's trying to protect his wealth. I might have to use a different strategy. Does anyone else f

- Resolved Question: Young mothers, did you regret having a baby so soon? Or do you wish it would have been different?
(Thu, 22 May 2008 04:04:59 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
I'm just curious to know if you are a young mother (16-24) and you had wished that you could have done things differently and not had a baby. They say these years are our prime years and that we should go to school, get married, buy a house (or whatever) and be financially set to have children in order to give them the life they deserve. I agree with that to a sense. I am only 22 and I would love to have a baby. But I get told that I should wait, that I am still young, that there is plenty of
- Resolved Question: Do you ever feel like you don't deserve to live?
(Tue, 20 May 2008 11:36:23 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
So often, I'll think about killing myself. I want to die. I don't want to live. I'm just tired of life and everything that goes along with it.
Living nearly 30 years as I have (it's felt like longer), I've seen a lot of people dying and a lot of people that wanted to live, but couldn't any longer, and I think, "Why the fuck should I get to live when ALL of these other people actually WANT to but can't for whatever reason?" Though I've fully accepted the fact that life is anything but fair, it

(Wed, 14 May 2008 13:59:10 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
Will I regret working for less money in my 20's? I work as an admissions counselor at a university and it so much fun, but I made 28,000 my first year, 29,000 my second year and I got a promotion and will be working for 33,609 come Sept. 1st. In three to four more years I will be making $40,000 (finally). I will also be 30. - Resolved Question: I need help with life insurance strategies: Which market should I target and which products should I sell?
(Mon, 28 Apr 2008 03:55:56 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
I'm starting out as a life insurance salesman. I wish to use my time efficiently. Therefore, I need help to target the right demographic market and life insurance products for this market.
For example, I could target executives making over $100,000 per year, and the product is a combination term insurance with some UL. The term part goes to retirement, and the smaller UL part continues until death.
Any brilliant ideas would be helpful.

- Resolved Question: Do you ever wonder how being LGBT will affect our retirement years?
(Tue, 22 Apr 2008 13:28:12 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
Unlike heterosexuals, we will always have to fend off for ourselves in "the golden years". Well meaning straight people do ask me all the time, "Aren't you afraid of dying old and alone?" and they couch that in terms of the sense of security that straight marriages do give; whether this security is real or imagined is debatable, of course.
But the social support system is definitely weighed in favor of straight couples, especially those married and with kids.
As a financial planner who is ga

- Resolved Question: 801(k) experience?
(Fri, 11 Apr 2008 12:23:28 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
I understand the 801(k) refers to a dividend reinvestment plan. In 2002, without my knowledge (because I didn't read all my mail), I received a deposit of less than $250 in company stock in a dividend reinvestment plan related to my retirement. That money now is worth almost $1200. Not bad for less than 6 years. I wish I had put all my investment into that program.

After a winter break, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday. One small child wrote the following: We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They all live in tin boxes, they ride on big 3-wheeled tricycles and they all have name tags because they don't know who they are. They go to a big building called a wrecked hall, bu

(Mon, 07 Apr 2008 13:49:31 GMT)
Retirement wishes :
Barack Obama has stated that he wishes to delay NASA's Project Constellation, which would involve returning humans to the Moon, and eventually sending them to Mars. Obama has claimed that he wants to delay the program 5 years, and use the money to fund an $18 billion education plan.
My question is, how can we convince Obama otherwise? There will already be a four-year delay between the retirement of the space shuttle and the start of Constellation. If we delay Constellation, we're talking a g
